If you are here viewing this post, then you must already know something about me. If not, welcome and thanks for checking out Tudi Hamu!
As I get started with the blog, which will be a combination of video blogs, written blogs and pictures, I wanted to first explain its purpose. Many of you have expressed interest in following along on this epic adventure that Oliver & I are about to embark on, so I wanted to have a place where you can vicariously join in on the craziness that I’m sure is about to erupt.
On June 3rd, we set off for 10 weeks of travelling in Zambia & Malawi. This is not just your ordinary vacation though. Our goal is to find the right place to start an ecolodge, that will run as a social enterprise. Sure, we’ll be doing plenty of touristy things, but the goal is to find a place that has the right mix of ecotourism draw (beauty, nature, resources, etc), balanced with the right mix of community. Much of this initial story for starting the lodge will be focused on just how to find the right place and all the challenges that come with making this decision.
So follow along as the journey begins! I’ll be posting a video in the next few weeks to expand on the impetus for this venture and to let you know a little more about myself and business partner-in-crime, my five year old son, Oliver.
Please enter your email in the box at the bottom that says Subscribe to blog via email to stay up to date with our latest happenings and in the meantime, explore tudihamu.com to find out more about what tudi hamu means, who I am, some of my past projects or more about the social enterprise ecolodge venture.
And please feel free to drop me comments, questions and/or any suggestions. I look forward to sharing what will likely be a roller coaster of a ride with you all 🙂
